It decided to rain so I took shelter in a Waterstones. It turns out they have a cafe upstairs that does gluten-free sandwiches. Guess where I am right now?

I made it up the hill! I’m relaxing now with another cup of tea. The sun is out so I’ll take a walk around the cathedral a bit later.
I’ve sort of cheated already today; I’ve had a regular scone with jam and cream for lunch/snack so I could take my afternoon meds. I’m hoping because it was a small scone, I don’t bloat.
All spoonies
No matter how mild your condition you are family.
There is no such thing as “not sick enough” to be part of our community.
You can work multiple jobs and have energy to exercise and still be a spoonie.

First whole day in Lincoln and I’m going to spend it in the city centre. I might even go up to the cathedral and take a few pictures if it’s not raining (and i don’t die half-way up the hill). But first, tea from a Batman mug.

Chilling in first class. My stomach’s hurting though so I might have lunch early. I’ve got gluten-free pasta with cream cheese and bacon to look forward to.

Waiting for my train at King’s Cross. It’s a little different from when I was last here.
On my way to Lincoln
I’m super excited because I’m spending five days in one of my favourite cities with my sister and her fiancée, but I’m also a little sad because my fiancée can’t join us. I almost feel guilty for leaving him alone but it’s not like he can’t take care of himself. I’ll probably be fine once I get there but I know I’ll miss him like mad.
Just enjoyed a (mostly) gluten-free dinner of stir-fried sweet and sour chicken, homemade fried chips and chopped bacon, with Yeo Rhubarb and Custard yogurt for after. I thoroughly enjoyed it (as did the wonderful fiancee) and even though the sauce had gluten in it, I haven’t bloated!
I’m almost ready for trip to Lincoln tomorrow; I’ve made myself gluten-free pasta with cream cheese and chopped bacon to eat on the train, and I’m bringing some gluten-free jam tarts and rice cakes to snack on if I need to take meds on the go.
Speaking of meds, I’ve got myself a week pill pot with four sections per day, so I can put all the pills I’ll need during my stay in one place without having to bring loads of boxes and bottles with me. I got it from Amazon so if anyone needs one, I’ll post a link later.
Holiday start!
So I’ve been to gym again today. I did mostly leg weights but did a little bit on the cross-trainer as well. I’ve noticed my bad knee doesn’t like the cross-trainer too much though so I might have to give up on that and stick to a brisk walk on the treadmill instead.
I’ve also been cooking again; truffles are chilling in the fridge and just need to be covered in chocolate at some point, and the latest batch of brownies are on the cooling rack. I’ll be taking the brownies with me to Lincoln on Wednesday so I’m not allowing myself to eat any of them until then.
As for my symptoms, my bloating has gone down quite a bit now that I’m taking only four steroids a day, and even though my appetite is quite low at the moment, I’m able to eat normally. I’m sticking to a reduced-gluten diet at the moment so I’m feeling quite a bit better. I did have a little pain in my left side over the weekend but that’s gone now as have the headaches (mostly).
For those interested, the rats are getting new bedding this afternoon so I’ll be having fun trying to get them out of the cage; they won’t let me pick them up yet.

I have tried the gluten-free range at Sainsbury’s and they are very good. My local shop doesn’t have a big range though.
