I’m having a chilled day today so I decided to see if the rats like to play in water. Neither seemed too interested but I at least got cuddles with them both. I find playing with them very relaxing; they take my kind off of whatever’s bothering me and give me a moment where I don’t feel like the world is falling apart around me.

Feeling so very tired after the last three days at work but I’m also feeling positive that things are returning to some variation of normal. My symptoms are still present and, although they haven’t improved much since I left the hospital, they haven’t gotten any worse. I feel things are manageable at the moment but I’m keeping a very close eye on what my body is doing and how it’s reaction to food as well as my medications.
I’ve got one more day at work before I get a day off but if it’s anything like today was, I’ll be ok. I’m planning on sleeping most of Sunday so I’m ready for next week.

First full day at work yesterday went really well; I felt fine during the day, didn’t get stressed out and, although I was tired when I got home, I still had enough spoons to make an easy dinner of mini pizzas and cheese hot dog bites for me, my fiance and a friend. We even played D&D fifth edition which was my friends first ever play. It was really fun and I can’t wait for the next session. I’m ready to take on day two.

I took my last two loading shots of humira last night and it all went fine. I’ll probably get a call to arrange for a nurse to come round and help me later but I’ll just explain that I can do it on my own.

My fiance said it sounded like I’d been shot because of the loud click the pens make when used. The first one wasn’t painful but I felt the needle go in. The second one I didn’t feel at all though so I’m feeling pretty happy about taking them without any issues.

The only thing I struggle with is keeping hold of the pinch of skin as I wait for the yellow bit to appear in the window to show it’s done. I’m sure I’ll get better at it though the more I do it.

I’ve had a productive day today; got my humira delivered this morning (no one’s arranged to come round to help me take it but I’m feeling pretty ok to take it on my own because I did three in the hospital, so I’ll be taking the next two doses tonight), I cleaned out the rats, went out and got a few cooking supplies, and then made gluten-free toffee cupcakes and chocolate brownies.
I’m feeling a lot better today but I’m a little tired now. Looking forward to seeing a friend (who I don’t get to see very often) tomorrow.

Day five of five working in a row tomorrow. It’s only a short day so it shouldn’t be too bad. I’m already quite tired from working the last four days though, and I won’t get much of a lay in tomorrow morning because there are railworks and I have to leave early to get a replacement bus into work. At least I’ll have two days off after to recover before going back to full-time hours on Wednesday.
