I’m testing myself today by not using my stick on the way into work this morning. I’m still bringing it with me in case I need it on the way home but I’m hoping I won’t. It all depends how much moving around I’ve done during the day and how tired I am by the time I go home.

Had a really good birthday today. My fiance took me out for lunch at a new burger place and then we did a little bit of shopping before heading home to cool down and relax. It’s been a super hot day so we didn’t really want to do much. I’ve eaten most of a tub of ice cream and am contemplating if I should eat the rest.

Had a great Father’s Day BBQ with my fiance and both sets of parents. I’ve been pretty tired today (probably from going back to work this week) but I had a good day anyway. Also, I got loads of cuddles with Button who is pointedly ignoring me in this picture.
En route to Winchester to meet up with work colleagues then we’re all going out for a meal. This’ll be the first time I’ve seen any of them (aside from my manager) in more than two months. I’m a little nervous but also looking forward to it.
I go back to work on Wednesday but only for a short, four-hour shift. I’m doing a gradual increase of hours each week so I don’t overdo it and end up needing time off again. I can’t wait for things to be back to normal.
I don’t remember if I’ve already mentioned this but I’ve had an abnormally high resting heart rate since leaving the hospital at the beginning of April. (And by high, I mean consistently higher than 110bpm).
I have since spoken to my GP and had a blood test to check my potassium levels, which came back fine, as well as an ECG. The ECG showed a regular but high heart rate of around 90-100 so they’ve referred me to the hospital out-patient cardio clinic to have another type of ECG (the proper name of which escapes me) where they put goop on your chest and use a scanner to watch your heart beating. Fingers crossed they’ll figure out what’s causing it. I’m still on prednisolone, which I know can cause a rise in heart rate, but it’s never been this high before. I’m hoping it’s nothing serious. Someone from IBDSuperheroes has suggested it could be the beginnings of POTS so I’ll talk to the doctor when I go for the ECG.

I made a birthday cake for my fiance. He asked for chocolate so he got chocolate.

I made it to Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair today and got a couple of really cute rings. I’m a bit tired now though from all the walking so I think I’ll be having a quiet day indoors tomorrow.

On the train home after having such a great time yesterday; the wedding ceremony was beautiful and the venue for the breakfast/reception was gorgeous. I surprised myself with not needed my stick at all. I didn’t really want to use it so I left it in the hotel room (thinking I’d regret it) but actually, I was fine without it. It’s not like we did a lot of walking but there was plenty of standing which usually would cause my stomach muscles to ache after a while. Not yesterday though; I was able to stand and be sociable without needing to lean on anything/anyone. By the end of the day, I was tired but not achy or stiff as I usually am after a long day. I’m quite proud of myself.

We’re on our way to Milton Keynes for a friends wedding.
This is the first time I’ll be staying elsewhere with my ostomy bag so I’ve made sure to pack extra bags and stuff, just in case. I’m looking forward to the next couple of days even though I know I’ll be worn out by the end of it.

I had a really good day out on my own today. I got everything I wanted to do done and, even though I’m a little tired and my hip kept hurting all the way home, I’m feeling alright. I’ll probably be tired tomorrow too but I’m not up to much until the afternoon anyway.
Also, I found this adorable poop emoji take out cup. I couldn’t resist it’s adorableness!
