Day six of work this week is finally over! I’m absolutely exhausted; all I want to do is go home and curl up on the sofa for a few hours before bed. I don’t know what to eat for dinner though… I should probably sort that out before getting too comfy.
Thank goodness I’m off work until Wednesday.

So tired…
But still had a good day. I’m working again tomorrow, which’ll be the sixth day in a row. At least I have two days off to recover after.
Day #2
And I’m ok so far. I cheated a little with my gluten free diet last night and had curly fries with my dinner. I didn’t bloat though so it’s not too bad. I’m also feeling a lot better than I have been this week. I just hope I can last the weekend; I’m working six days this week so I may have to hibernate on Monday.
Day #1…
…Of no longer taking the Azathioprine. I didn’t throw up and so far, my stomach and bowels have been fine. We’ll see how it goes for the rest of the week. I need to call the ibd nurse again on Sunday to update them on how my symptoms have been and they’ll hopefully find some new meds to replace my prednisolone when I come off them in two weeks.
Time for plan C
So splitting the dosage didn’t work; I was still heaving my guts up this morning. I’ve spoken to my GP who recommeded I stop taking the Azathioprine for the time being, at least until I hear back from the ibd nurse. I just hope my bowels don’t take this as an invitation to flare up.
Trying something different
I’m going to try splitting my azathioprine so I take one tablet this morning and the other this evening. Also, I’m having a hot chocolate now and taking my meds when I get to work so I’ve got something in my stomach before I take them.
I’m also hoping to hear back from the helpline again today so I should have answers by this afternoon.

This made me laugh so much!! It’s so true, you go a bit crazy and grow a large face (belly and buffalo hump) but in all honesty Steroids can really help you out in the short term. I don’t personally use them anymore because they just don’t mesh well with me but they are a good quick fix to a nasty flare so if you can use them, do!
One of the few things to make me smile this week.
Third time this has happened!
So, the helpline thinks my throwing up in the mornings after taking my meds is to do with my azathioprine but because I don’t know the dosage off the top of my head, I need to call them again to get them to call me back tomorrow. I just need to remember to bring my meds with me to work.
